City of O'Fallon issued the following announcement on May 22.
On May 20th, Governor Pritzker announced that all bars and restaurants in the State of Illinois will be able to open for outdoor service beginning May 29, 2020. To help restaurants and bars expand their outdoor seating options, the City of O’Fallon has created a special event permit that will help all bars and restaurants in O’Fallon designate additional space for outdoor service.
“As the State of Illinois continues to improve and progress through the Governor’s Restore Illinois Plan, we are excited that O’Fallon businesses are allowed to begin reopening,” said Mayor Herb Roach. “The City is here to support our business community and we will be working together every day to quickly and safely reopen O’Fallon.”
Bars & Restaurants that have an existing outdoor space may begin using them on May 29, 2020. Mayor Roach has signed an Executive Order creating a special event permit allowing for extension of outdoor seating options that will grant further options for outdoor seating, including use of parking lots, sidewalks, and streets.
In order to accommodate additional outdoor seating in the O’Fallon Downtown District, 2nd Street, from Lincoln to Vine, and Cherry Street, from 1st Street to 2nd Street will be closed to traffic to allow for outdoor dining.

All bars and restaurants must continue to follow all operating guidelines set forth by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The State requires that tables must be six feet apart. Masks and distancing measures for staff must continue to be followed, and other precautions and guidance will soon be issued by the State.
