Analysis: Swansea pays $6.13 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Swansea Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 86 percent of the $1,289,541 the Swansea Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $6.13 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Swansea contributed $1,108,824 to the fund, which saw a $55,554 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $180,718, or 14 percent, in 2018.
