ANDERSON HOSPITAL: Foundation Gala Goes Virtual

Virtual meeting 1200

Anderson Hospital issued the following announcement on Oct. 19.

The Anderson Hospital Foundation’s 2021 Gala is going virtual! The January Gala may best be described as an “interactive website” which will be open to participants January 29 thru the 31st. Lori St. John, Foundation Event Manger, is working with GiveSmart, an industry leader in fundraising software, to bring a fun and interactive event to life, virtually.

While we will miss the fellowship and networking that occurs when physically gathered for a cause, there are some great advantages to a virtual event! One of the best advantages is anyone can participate…from anywhere! Guests can navigate to the website from the comfort of their own home using the device of their choice. “The Givesmart Module allows guests to bid on their phones,” explained Lori. “They will also get phone updates on their bid as the auction continues.”

The website will feature “How to” videos from the Foundation Board’s Lendell Phelps, instructing guests on how to navigate the website and participate in the auction. “The items they will bid on will be Covid friendly and will be parties of 10 or 20, things to do close to home or items for the home,” said Lori.

The 2021 Gala is titled, Hometown Heroes, and will feature a video showcasing a day in the life of some of our very own hospital heroes. Lori is especially excited to offer past participants an extra special benefit. “Guests from our 2020 event will receive a special save the date card in the mail and will receive a special gift the week of the event,” explained Lori. The gift will include some special items including a recipe from the Chef at the Four Seasons. “A video of the Chef making the recipe will be on the website and guests can make it during the event or whenever they want to enjoy it!”

Lori is hoping guests will make a fun evening out of it. “I hope guests will dress up and celebrate safely with friends,” said Lori. Many virtual event guests host small parties and share their experiences with friends and family over Facebook. “I hope we see photos of the finished meals and everyone dressed up!”
