City of Granite City Public Works Committee met Nov. 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Alderman Jackstadt called the Public Works Committee Meeting to order.

Jackstadt stated that first we have a repeal of Ordinance 7962 Handicap Parking at 2301 Edison Avenue that is up for approval tonight.

MOTION By Jackstadt, second by Elliott to approve an Ordinance to repeal Ordinance 7962 for a Handicap Parking at 2301 Edison. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.

Jackstadt stated that next; we have bid results for the Public Works surplus equipment.

MOTION By Jackstadt, second by Mathes to award the surplus equipment from Public Works to the highest bidder. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.

Jackstadt stated that next we will have a discussion on one way traffic down an alley.

City Council, Mayor, and Attorney discussed different ways of fixing the problem of people speeding down the alley.

Jackstadt stated we would table this Ordinance for one-way alley and discuss at a meeting in the future, Jackstadt stated that next is an Ordinance to purchase a truck equipped to plow snow.

Mayor stated that this is not the lowest bid, the lowest bidder could not get the vehicle here for 6 months and so we went with the company that could get the vehicle here for the snow season to plow cul-de-sacs.

MOTION By Jackstadt, second by Elliott to approve an Ordinance to purchase a truck equipped to plow snow. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.

MOTION by Jackstadt, second by McDowell to Adjourn the Public Works Committee Meeting. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.

MEETING ADJOURNED.
