Report: Venice School District spent $28,292 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Venice Community Unit School District 3 was up 47.8 percent from five years ago, according to the Metro East Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Madison County school district spent $19,142 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $28,292 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 96 to 88 students over the same period.

Venice's spending in 2019-20 was 95.2 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
