Rep. Charlie Meier (R-Breese) posted about the Illinois State Fair Butter Cow on Facebook.
In an Aug. 10 Facebook post, Meier announced the unveiling of the Illinois State Fair Butter Cow for the 2022 Fair.
“The 2022 Illinois State Fair Butter Cow has been unveiled,” said Meir.

The butter cow is an unofficial mascot for the Illinois State Fair. It is carved, by hand from hundreds of pounds of butter.
According to an article from the State Journal-Register, the first Butter Cow was sculpted by J.D. Wallace.
The Illinois State Fair starts with a preview night on Aug. 11 and continues through Aug. 21.
