The Governor of Illinois is poised to sign a $53.1 billion budget today, marking the largest spending plan in the state's history. This budget was passed without Republican support and during a late-night session.

The Governor will describe this budget as "balanced," although critics argue it relies heavily on tax increases and financial strategies that burden Illinois residents. The plan includes $1 billion in tax hikes, pay raises for politicians, and an additional $1 billion allocated for non-citizens.

"This spending plan does not reflect the priorities of the people we represent," stated an opposing viewpoint.
