State Representative Amy Elik (IL) | Representative Amy Elik (R) 111th District
State Representative Amy Elik participated in the "Makers on the Move" bus tour organized by the Illinois Manufacturer’s Association (IMA). The event, in partnership with IMEC, marks its third annual statewide tour. This initiative visits manufacturing facilities, educational institutions, and community centers across Illinois to celebrate Manufacturing Month and promote career opportunities in the sector.
The tour commenced in Springfield on October 4th and reached Metro East on October 9th. A stop was made at Alton Steel Inc., where Elik joined local leaders and engaged with steelworkers and administrators. Following this visit, the tour proceeded to Granite City.
In Granite City, the team visited America’s Central Port, meeting employees and community leaders to showcase the port's activities. The IMA's decision to include two stops within the 111th district highlights efforts by local leaders to revitalize manufacturing in Metro East.
