Today, House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Chairman Mike Bost expressed concerns regarding the Department of Veterans Affairs' lack of response to nearly 30 letters and over 50 additional requests for information. These inquiries cover various issues related to the delivery of care, benefits, and services at the VA.

Chairman Bost emphasized the need for transparency from the VA. "Veterans and taxpayers expect transparency they can trust from VA no matter who is in the White House," he stated. He noted that House Republicans have repeatedly sought answers from the Biden-Harris administration on issues raised by veterans, their survivors, and VA employees.

The chairman outlined several critical topics requiring attention, including allegations of sexual harassment, misconduct, budget shortfalls, education benefits, veteran homelessness, healthcare access, and PACT Act implementation. "As Chairman, I expect the Biden-Harris administration to answer these requests in a timely manner," Bost asserted. "Simply put, VA must do better."

The committee is awaiting responses on a range of specific matters such as VA abortion provider training videos from September 2023 and frequency of abortion procedures at VA from January 2024. Other pending issues include leadership accountability recommendations and various allegations across multiple VA medical centers.
