HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Collinsville welcomed its first baby of 2025, Sevin Le’andre Rucker, born to parents Deshaun Crockett and Quinton Rucker. Sevin was delivered at 4:42 p.m. on January 1st, weighing 5 pounds, 14.5 ounces and measuring 19 inches long.
In recognition of being the hospital's first newborn of the year, Sevin and his family received a gift basket from the Women and Infants Center. The basket included items such as baby blankets, bibs, a pacifier holder, socks for mom, and sweet treats.
St. Elizabeth’s Hospital provides a variety of services for expecting mothers and infants in 2025. These include tours and prenatal classes as well as an Obstetric Emergency Department (OB ED) for pregnant patients with concerns or emergencies related to pregnancy or postpartum conditions. The OB ED caters to those over 16 weeks gestation facing issues like abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, pre-term labor, preeclampsia, high-risk pregnancy conditions, decreased fetal movement, ruptured membranes, or high blood pressure.
