On February 6, 2025, Rep. Bost addressed a lawsuit filed by the Trump administration against Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson. He stated: " The Trump administration has filed suit against JB Pritzker and Brandon Johnson for interfering with federal immigration enforcement. Fighting to make our state and its largest city a safer place for legal citizens!"
Later that day, he turned his attention to the opioid crisis, specifically mentioning fentanyl-related overdoses: "In 2023, fentanyl-related overdoses took over 107,000 lives, making it the leading cause of death among adults aged 18 to 49. That’s why I voted for the HALT Fentanyl Act to make the scheduling order for fentanyl permanent, giving law enforcement the tools they need to stop this…"
