City of Edwardsville Public Services Committee met Feb. 11

I.  Public Comment: None. 

II. Council Matters: 

A. Approval of Minutes from the January 30, 2025 Public Services Committee meeting: 

Alderman Patton made a motion to approve with Alderman Warren seconding the motion. All Ayes. Committee forwarded to Council for information. 

B. Approval of a Resolution Authorizing the Police Department to Apply for the Sustained 

Traffic Enforcement Program Grant FFY2026 

Alderman Warren made a motion to approve with Alderman Patton seconding the motion. Staff explained that this is for the Police Department to hire back officers for additional enforcement of Impaired Driving, Distracted Driving and Occupant Protection laws. All Ayes. Committee forwarded to Council for consideration. 

C. Approval of an IDOT Resolution for Maintenance Under the Illinois Highway Code 

Alderman Warren made a motion to approve with Alderman Patton seconding the motion. Staff explained that this is for the appropriation of MFT funds for the purchase of materials to repair and maintain the streets and alleys within the City. All Ayes. Committee forwarded to Council for consideration. 

E. Approval of a Professional Services Agreement with Oates Associates, Inc. for the IL 157 Shared Use Path Phase 4 Construction Engineering Services in the amount of $157,000.00 

Alderman Warren made a motion to approve with Alderman Patton seconding the motion. Staff explained that this is for the construction of a bike trail and necessary work to complete the project from West Schwarz Street to Enclave Blvd. Committee forwarded to Council for consideration.
