House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Chairman Mike Bost has expressed support for the Department of Veterans Affairs' decision to phase out medical treatments for gender dysphoria. This move follows an executive order by President Trump titled “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.”

Chairman Bost commended VA Secretary Doug Collins for his decision, stating, “I applaud Secretary Collins decision today to refocus VA’s efforts away from cross-sex hormone therapy through VA health care and towards providing health care and services to our disabled and paralyzed veteran community.”

Bost emphasized the importance of prioritizing resources towards veterans who need VA care the most. He criticized previous policies under the Biden-Harris administration, advocating a shift in focus back to core veteran needs. “We must reverse the disastrous policies of the Biden-Harris administration and put veterans back at the center of VA’s mission," he stated.

The announcement marks a significant policy change within the Department of Veterans Affairs, reflecting broader national debates over healthcare provisions related to gender dysphoria.
