Rep. Mike Bost, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 12th district since 2015, shared a series of updates on Twitter concerning recent events and issues affecting his constituents. Bost, born in Murphysboro, Illinois, has been active in public service for several decades, including previous roles in the Illinois House of Representatives and the Jackson County Board.

On March 17, 2025, Rep. Bost addressed the aftermath of severe storms that impacted Southern Illinois over the weekend. In his tweet "There are no reported fatalities in Southern Illinois from the dangerous storms that tore through the region over the weekend. As damage continues to be assessed, Tracy and I send our prayers to all families affected, particularly in hardest hit Jackson and Perry counties."

Later that day, Rep. Bost commented on a policy change by President Trump regarding transgender treatments at the Department of Veterans Affairs. He tweeted "President Trump is phasing out taxpayer-funded transgender treatments at the Department of Veterans Affairs. The VA shouldn't be a battlefield in the Left's war on truth."

On March 18, 2025, Rep. Bost marked National Ag Day with a message celebrating local agriculture's contribution to Southern Illinois' economy. He stated "Today is National Ag Day. As we celebrate our farmers and producers, I’d like to highlight just how important agriculture is to our local economy."
