Rep. Mike Bost, who serves Illinois' 12th Congressional District, recently engaged with members of the Illinois Farm Bureau and local leaders to discuss pertinent issues affecting the agricultural sector and local economy, as expressed in his tweets over two consecutive days.

On March 26, 2025, Rep. Mike Bost shared insights from a meeting with Illinois Farm Bureau members John Yeley and Jenny Bierman from Clark and Jasper counties. The conversation centered on the upcoming Farm Bill, international trade, and the support necessary for farmers to continue contributing to national food and energy supply. Bost wrote, "I had a great meeting with Illinois Farm Bureau members John Yeley and Jenny Bierman from Clark and Jasper counties to discuss the next Farm Bill, trade, and ensuring our farmers have the support they need to feed and fuel our nation."

A follow-up tweet on March 27, 2025, highlighted Bost's meeting with Jack McCormick, Vice President of Gateway FS from Ellis Grove. They deliberated on the importance of permanent tax relief for small businesses and family farms. Bost referenced the positive impact of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act on local economic growth, stating, "I met with Gateway FS Vice President Jack McCormick from Ellis Grove to discuss the need for permanent tax relief for small businesses and family farms. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act provided critical tax cuts that have helped our local economy grow;"

Additionally, on the same day, Bost addressed concerns of foreign influence, particularly from entities like the Chinese Communist Party, in American educational institutions. He explained his support for legislative measures to curb such influences, declaring, "Foreign adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party are pouring billions of dollars into American universities to influence students, research, and national policy - often in secret."
