State Senator Erica Harriss is conducting her 3rd Annual Mother's Day Diaper Drive, aiming to assist families in the Metro East. The event, in collaboration with Safe Families for Children Metro East, is scheduled from April 14 to May 9, 2025. The drive seeks to collect essential childcare items for local mothers and their children.

Senator Harriss expressed the importance of this initiative, stating, “This initiative is about lifting up the incredible mothers in our community who are working hard every day to care for their children. We want to ensure they feel supported and appreciated this Mother’s Day.”

The public can participate by donating new, unopened items. The list of requested items includes diapers in sizes 3 to 5, pull-ups for both boys and girls (sizes 2T-5T), sippy cups, toddler-sized socks and underwear, toothbrushes and toothpaste for toddlers, as well as shea moisturizing products for curly hair.

Donations can be mailed or dropped off at Senator Harriss’ District Office at 120 N Main Street, Suite 1B, Edwardsville, IL 62025 by the deadline of May 9.

Senator Harriss and her team plan to deliver the donated items to Safe Families for Children Metro East to ensure they reach mothers in time for Mother’s Day. She encouraged community involvement by saying, “We encourage everyone to participate whether by donating or helping spread the word so that together we can make a meaningful impact for families in our area.”

For any inquiries concerning the drive, individuals can reach out to the district office at 618-307-5789.
