Rep. Mike Bost, U.S. Representative for Illinois's 12th congressional district, recently shared updates on his outreach efforts in Crawford County and Oblong as part of his "One Big, Beautiful Bill Tour," according to posts on his official Twitter account.

On August 16, 2025, Bost posted: "Checked in with Crawford County Chairman Bill Burke, County Clerk Beckie Staley, and Resa Shaner of the Crawford County Development Association to discuss grant opportunities and how my office can keep working closely with them to continue developing our region.
