Madison County Board meeting centers around appointments and new initiatives

The Madison County, Illinois Board met recently in Edwardsville to discuss a number of new appointments and initiatives.

The agenda included a host of important recommendations for position reappointments. Terry Allan was recommended for reappointment to the Madison County Mass Transit District. Ronald Hemann was recommended for reappointment to a new three-year term with the New Douglas Fire Protection department. Lerow Emerick was recommended for the Greater Alton/Twin Rivers Convention and Visitors’ Bureau.

On the new initiatives front, multiple committee issues were on the agenda’s docket. The Public Safety Committee sought resolution to authorize pet population grants. The Information Technology Department and Finance and Government Operations Committee sought resolution to purchase maintenance renewal on Microsoft licensing for the Madison County Information Technology Department. Finally, the Planning and Development Committee discussed zoning resolutions, a resolution reconstituting the Madison County Plan Commission, and a resolution that would allow the destruction of unsafe buildings and structures.
