Madison County, Illinois recently released its fiscal budget for 2016.
The budget includes sub-budgets for all the major committees within the county, of which there are 15. This includes such councils as the Building and Development Committee, the Government Relations Committee and the Health Department Committee.
The Total General Fund Budget proposed for FY 2016 is $46,885,693, up 3.4 percent from FY 2015.
Located in southwest Illinois, Madison County ranks as the eight largest in the state. Its 2010 population was 269,282. Madison County Government was created in 1812, when the county itself was formed.
