Rep. Mike Bost, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 12th district, has been vocal on social media regarding recent events and engagements. Bost replaced Gerald Hawkins in 2015 and has a long history of public service, including his time in the Illinois House of Representatives and on the Jackson County Board.

He detailed that an illegal immigrant targeted individuals at a pro-Israel rally with firebombs due to their faith and support for Israel.

Later that day, Bost shared information about the suspect involved in the attack by posting "Mohamed Sabry Soliman: What we know about illegal immigrant accused in Colorado terror attack" along with a link for further details.

On June 4, 2025, Bost highlighted his meeting with Eastern Illinois University President Jay Gatrell. He mentioned that "Appreciated sitting down with Eastern Illinois University President Jay Gatrell this week." He noted the university's rising enrollment and growth in its Honors Program as positive developments for students' career opportunities.

Mike Bost was born in Murphysboro, Illinois, where he currently resides. His educational background includes graduating from the University of Illinois' Certified Firefighter II Academy.
