The Alton Committee of the Whole plans to meet on its St. Patrick's Day resolution.
The Committee of the Whole for the City of Alton, Illinois, will meet on Monday, Feb. 8., to discuss a resolution regarding St. Patrick’s Day.
The resolution notes that certain streets will be closed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, to facilitate a St. Patrick’s Day event. The public works department, police department and fire department will be authorized by the resolution to direct the temporary closure on State St. between Wall and Broadway, W. Third St. from State to Piasa and Belle from Third to Fourth.
Other resolutions the committee will consider include one authorizing the mayor to direct and execute the redeveloped agreement with Dan Mar Enterprises Inc. and one that deals with the closure of more roads as it relates to the half marathon sponsored by Big River Running Company.
