Three Madison County officials will address the ramifications of Illinois State Bill 100 at a news conference 10 a.m. Thursday.
State Bill 100 focuses on the school's authority to suspend or expel students.
The officials to attend the event, which will take place in the Madison County Board Chambers, are Regional Superintendent of Schools Dr. Robert A. Daiber, Sheriff John D. Lakin and Chief Judge of the Third Judicial Circuit David A. Hylla.
These three representatives will also announce an innovative new program that focuses on keeping troubled youth in school. The program was developed by the Madison County Regional Office of Education.
