The Roxana Village Council gathered Feb. 1, with Mayor Paul Oller presiding to give fund updates and assess issues regarding local properties.
After approving the minutes from its prior meeting, the Treasurer’s report and the bill list, the council went through its fund list and gave updates, which included the General, Fire Protection, Recreation, Public Improvement, Refuse, Water O&M, Water Plant Capital Expenditures, Meter Deposit, Social Security, Special Revenues, Waste Water Treatment Plant, Unemployment Insurance and Workman’s Comp, and Motor Tax Fuel funds.
Mayor Oller asked for a general consensus regarding the school painting Shell emblems on Chaffer in multiple locations. After discussion, the council decided it was on board with it as long as the school knows that if the village needs to repair the roads, it won’t be responsible for the paintings.
Also of interest at the meeting was a discussion on the replacement of the furnace and hot water heater at 223 South Central. The council decided that, before making further decisions, they needed to locate the actual owner of the property.
