The Granite City Finance Committee met Sept. 6 to purchase six new vehicles.

Alderman Simpson called the Finance Committee Meeting to order.
Simpson stated that first is US STEEL TAXES.
Mayor stated that pertains to adding a year to their TIF. and we will continue forward.
Simpson stated that there is an Ordinance to authorize the lease-purchase of six motor
vehicles for use by the Fire, Police and other Departments of the City that is up for approval
by the council tonight.
Oney stated that basically what you’re approving is the lease purchase of several vehicles in
the amount $319,000.00; an interest rate of 1.62% for the loan.
Motion by Simpson, second by Elliott to approve an Ordinance to authorize the lease purchase
of six motor vehicles for use by the Fire, Police and other Departments of the City
that is up for approval by the council tonight. All Voted Yes. Motion Carried.
Simpson stated that next is the Downtown Grant for 1411 19th St. for work done at the old
fire station.
Motion by Elliott, second by Petrillo to approve the application for a Downtown TIF Grant
under Ordinance 8423 for the property at 1411 19th St. All Voted Yes. Motion Carried.
Motion by Simpson, second by Elliott to adjourn the Finance Committee Meeting. All Voted
Yes. Motion Carried.
