Analysis: Cahokia pays $2.12 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Cahokia Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 68 percent of the $871,513 the Cahokia Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.12 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Cahokia contributed $593,042 to the fund, which saw a $114,588 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $278,467, or 32 percent, in 2016. Another $4 came from other unspecified sources.
