Analysis: East Saint Louis pays $2.19 for every $1 pensioners contribute to East St Louis Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 68.7 percent of the $1,002,404 the East St Louis Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.19 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, East Saint Louis contributed $688,617 to the fund, which saw a $35,363 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $313,787, or 31.3 percent, in 2016.
