Analysis: Alton pays $5.20 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Fosterburg Fpd Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.9 percent of the $140,842 the Fosterburg Fpd Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.20 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Alton contributed $118,145 to the fund, which saw a $25,717 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $22,696, or 16.1 percent, in 2016. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
