Analysis: Glen Carbon pays $2.54 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Glen Carbon Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 71.5 percent of the $502,881 the Glen Carbon Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.54 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Glen Carbon contributed $359,755 to the fund, which saw a $109,491 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $141,425, or 28.1 percent, in 2016. Another $1,701 came from other unspecified sources.
