Analysis: Highland pays $2.73 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Highland Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 73.2 percent of the $590,304 the Highland Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.73 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Highland contributed $432,136 to the fund, which saw a $33,047 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $158,168, or 26.8 percent, in 2016.
