Analysis: Edwardsville pays $4.06 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Pontoon Beach Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 79.1 percent of the $449,127 the Pontoon Beach Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.06 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Edwardsville contributed $355,241 to the fund, which saw a $6,255 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $87,472, or 19.5 percent, in 2016. Another $6,414 came from other unspecified sources.
