Analysis: Venice pays $5.30 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Venice Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.1 percent of the $131,249 the Venice Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.30 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Venice contributed $110,422 to the fund, which saw a $5,821 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $20,827, or 15.9 percent, in 2016.
