Grant Community Consolidated School District 110 students suspended 109 times in a single school year

Grant Community Consolidated School District 110 reported 109 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 109 students during the year. That equates to 19 percent of the 575 students enrolled.

Of the 85 in-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 85 incidents. For 76 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

Of the 24 out-of-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 24 incidents. For 13 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
