Keith Randolph’s stock keeps going up.
Just months after publicly narrowing his college choices to a list that includes Illinois, Purdue and Wyoming, the 6-foot-5, 250-pound Belleville West star defensive end recently took to Twitter to announce Michigan State has emerged to extend a formal scholarship offer.
According to the Belleville News-Democrat, the offer marks the 21st overall for Randolph, the No. 8 ranked player in the class of 2019 by Rivals.com. In just his second season of playing football, Randolph also has offers from powerhouse programs like Minnesota, Boise State, Rutgers and Ball State.
With Belleville West off to a 4-0 start where they have outscored their opponents by 100 points and allowed just an average of 16 points per game, Randolph leads the team in tackles with 20, eight of them solo, and he also has three sacks.
The Detroit News reports Virginia has also shown interest in Randolph, who also stars on the school’s basketball team.
“He was walking around the hall as a sophomore, and I said, ‘Keith, buddy, have you ever thought about playing football?’” Belleville West head coach Cameron Pettus told Detroit News. “He ended up coming out and he was phenomenal. He is just a freak of nature, a great kid and an unbelievable athlete for sure.”
