Jersey County did not approve a "special service area" referendum on Nov. 6.
Voters said "no" to the advisory referendum establishing a special service area to be created to provide ambulance service. The area would be in the same area as Medora's ambulance service, and those residents would pay a property tax for the service.
With 100 percent of the votes counted, 166 were in favor and 249 opposed the measure.
