Report: Freeburg spent $10,519 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Freeburg Community High School District 77 is down 12.1 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Saint Clair County school district spent $11,970 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,519 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 611 to 639.

Freeburg's spending in 2017-18 was 21.1 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
