Report: Cahokia spent $15,254 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Cahokia Community Unit School District 187 is up 8.8 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Saint Clair County school district spent $14,015 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $15,254 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 3640 to 3433.

Cahokia's spending in 2017-18 was 14.4 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
