City of Alton Municipal Band Board met Oct. 9.

Julie McPike called the board meeting of the Alton Municipal Band to order at 6:35pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 in the Ringhausen Music Building.
Members Present: Larry Ashlock, Melissa Bock, Anne Hand, Julie McPike, Kasey Ogelsby, Sydney Reynolds
Members Absent: David Drillinger, Debbie Kelley
Guests Present: Martha Roberts, Louis Michael
Minutes
1. Julie McPike motioned to accept the minutes from the August 14, 2019 meeting. Kasey Ogelsby seconded. 6 yays, 0 nays. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report
1. Julie McPike motioned to approve a $500 shirt budget for 20 shirts (we already have 20 in inventory). Melissa Bock seconded. 6 yays, 0 nays. Motion passed.
2. Check from LC for $2475 was received for end of summer concert.
Personnel
1. Julie McPike motioned to accept the resignation of Band Manager Jessica Poddig, effective immediately. Kasey Ogelsby seconded. 6 yays, 0 nays. Motion passed.
2. Lahna McClaine has agreed to be JoJo the Clown for this next season.
Informational Items
1. This is the 130th Season of Concerts in the Park this year. Julie McPike is looking into the band being featured on the pint glass available at the Alton Visitor’s Center during one of the restaurant weeks (mid-January or mid-July).
2. Anne Hand has a key to the lights at Riverview Park and to the music cabinets at LC.
Discussion Items
1. Jennifer Shenberger wants to discuss guest soloists getting paid sooner.
2. Julie McPike wants to get a the rack card updated which is distributed to tourists visiting the Alton Visitor’s Center and at various other locations throughout the area.
3. Larry Ashlock would like to look into having the band play at the Alton fireworks on July 3rd at the Amphitheater and possibly collaborate with some other area groups.
4. Louis Michael said he is working with LC Administration on the details of the LC Agreement and will have it soon.
Julie McPike moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:19pm. Melissa Bock seconded.
