Q4 2019 Recap: Parolees in East Saint Louis convicted of crimes against the government

There were two offenders convicted of crimes against the government released on parole in East Saint Louis during the fourth quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Metro East Sun.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in East Saint Louis were men. The younger parolee was a 39-year-old man sentenced in 2019. The other was a 51-year-old man sentenced in 2019.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Charles D. Drake. He was convicted of a crime against the government in 2019 when he was 50 years old. He is now 51.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
