Analysis: Wood River pays $5.39 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Wood River Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.4 percent of the $761,478 the Wood River Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.39 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Wood River contributed $642,328 to the fund, which saw a $125,938 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $119,150, or 15.6 percent, in 2018.
