Analysis: Wood River pays $6.36 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Wood River Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 86.4 percent of the $480,200 the Wood River Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $6.36 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Wood River contributed $414,940 to the fund, which saw a $97,099 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $65,218, or 13.6 percent, in 2018. Another $42 came from other unspecified sources.
