Analysis: Mascoutah pays $3.16 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Mascoutah Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 76 percent of the $318,393 the Mascoutah Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.16 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Mascoutah contributed $241,884 to the fund, which saw a $31,774 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $76,508, or 24 percent, in 2018. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
