Analysis: Edwardsville pays $2.73 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Maryville Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 73.2 percent of the $319,844 the Maryville Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.73 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Edwardsville contributed $234,096 to the fund, which saw a $131,496 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $85,749, or 26.8 percent, in 2018.
