Analysis: Fairview Heights pays $3.63 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Fairview Heights Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 78.4 percent of the $1,658,229 the Fairview Heights Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.63 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Fairview Heights contributed $1,299,996 to the fund, which saw a $32,375 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $357,669, or 21.6 percent, in 2018. Another $564 came from other unspecified sources.
