Analysis: Edwardsville pays $2.99 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Edwardsville Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 75 percent of the $1,342,067 the Edwardsville Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.99 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Edwardsville contributed $1,006,359 to the fund, which saw a $68,226 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $335,489, or 25 percent, in 2018. Another $219 came from other unspecified sources.
