Analysis: East Saint Louis pays $6.25 for every $1 pensioners contribute to East St Louis Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 86.2 percent of the $1,919,523 the East St Louis Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $6.25 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, East Saint Louis contributed $1,655,017 to the fund, which saw a $913,281 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $264,506, or 13.8 percent, in 2018.
