Jackstadt stated that first we have an Ordinance that is up for approval to for the Appointee Salaries.

MOTION By Jackstadt, second by Williams to approve the 2020-2021 Ordinance for the Appointee Salaries. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.

Jackstadt stated that next is a Sewer Ordinance and turned over to Comptroller Oney to discuss the Ordinance.

Comptroller Oney stated that we should be closing in September we will no longer own the sewer system, we will still own our sewer plant/everyone was given a Wastewater Treatment Rate Proposal/this will help with the regional cost which are split between us, Madison County, Glen Carbon and Metro East/the only thing that it will effect is residential it will be a user group based on consumption/ the big apartment buildings would really receive a brake there rate is around $850.00/BOD basic oxygen demand we are making a new proposal to charge the big plants just what the regional charges us, this might give the big company's an incentive to fix their problems one of the proposal we are going to set 2 million back for repairs to the sewer treatment plant.

Discussion by the Council about new sewer rates.

Comptroller stated that the proposed rates need to be passed by September 25, 2020. We need you to take this home, look at the rates and let me know how you want me to proceed.

MOTION By Jackstadt, second by McDowell to Adjourn the Finance Committee Meeting.
