Village of Dupo Board of Trustees met Aug. 9.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Open Time: The Board of Trustees of the Village of Dupo, Illinois, met for a special board meeting at the Dupo Village Hall. The meeting was called to order at 5:30 P.M. Pledge of allegiance was conducted.

Roll Call: Trustees answering roll call for the meeting were: Basinski, Dell, Foster, Taylor, Phillips and Keys. Trustee(s) Absent: None. There being a quorum present, President Wilson declared the meeting open for business. Others in attendance: Clerk Nadler, Attorney Mundorf, Brandy Shoeman, Heather Rutledge, and John Corona.

Other Business: Trustee Keys motioned, and Trustee Taylor seconded for the Board to enter into Executive Session to discuss personnel, contracts, and possible litigation per 5 ILCS 120/2 {c}{1}. Trustees voting “Aye,” Basinski, Taylor, Phillips and Keys. Trustees voting “Nay,” none. After an affirmative vote, the motion carried. Executive Session began at 5:32 P.M.

Trustee Basinski motioned, and Trustee Dell seconded for the Board to return to Open Session. Trustees voting “Aye,” Basinski, Dell, Foster, Taylor, Phillips and Keys. Trustees voting “Nay,” none. After an affirmative vote, the motion carried. Executive Session concluded at 6:03 P.M.

Discussion was held regarding Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of a specific employee or office of the public body, pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1).

Trustee Dell motioned, and Trustee Foster seconded for the Board to hire James Allen for the open Utility Department general employee position since the first candidate declined the job officer. Trustees voting “Aye”, Basinski, Dell, Foster, Taylor, Phillips and Keys. Trustees voting “Nay”, none. After an affirmative vote, the motion carried.

Adjournment Time: With nothing further to come before the board, Trustee Phillips motioned, and Trustee Basinski seconded for the Board to adjourn the meeting. Trustees voting “Aye,” Basinski, Dell, Foster, Taylor, Phillips and Keys. Trustees voting “Nay,” none. After an affirmative vote, the motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:04 P.M.
