RECOGNIZING DU QUOIN HIGH SCHOOL'S FAMILY CAREER AND COMMUNITY LEADERS
OF AMERICA (FCCLA) CLUB
______
HON. MIKE BOST
of illinois
in the house of representatives
Tuesday, November 23, 2021
Mr. BOST. Madam Speaker, I rise today to recognize Du Quoin High School's Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) club for their generosity on World Kindness Day. After a good fundraising year, the students used their leftover club funds to purchase gift cards to distribute to community members outside their local grocery store. This act of kindness helped ensure that several local families were able to put food on the dinner table that evening. World Kindness Day is a wonderful opportunity to take a moment to give back to our communities. It serves as a reminder that even a gesture as simple as a smile or a helping hand can make someone's day. I am proud of each member and leader of Du Quoin High School's Family Career and Community Leaders of America club for their hard work and generosity during a time when many are struggling to make ends meet. On behalf of southern Illinois, thank you for giving back to our Du Quoin community.
