Illinois State Sen. Terri Bryant thanked her constituents in a July 6 Facebook post for voting to re-elect her to represent the state's new 58th District.

"I want to take a moment to thank the thousands of friends and supporters that voted for me to be your next state senator in last Tuesday's primary election,” Bryant said in the post. “Come January 2023, I will be serving as the new 58th District's state senator.”

Bryant also said serving her constituents in Springfield, Illinois, “is an honor and privilege that I take very seriously.”

“Thank you again to everyone for your continued support and efforts on my behalf,” she said. “God Bless You."

In September 2021, Bryant announced her re-election campaign.

"The people of the 58th District deserve a senator with a strong conservative record,” Bryant said, according to a WMIX 94 report. “My record as state senator reflects my pro-growth, pro-jobs, limited government philosophy. I’ve stood strong against what I think are executive overreaches and I’ve taken JB Pritzker to task for his failed handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Bryant also criticized the governor in the report for his jobs record and his “botched” distribution of unemployment benefits.

In June, Bryant reacted to the Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization overturning the Roe v. Wade ruling on abortion saying nothing will change in Illinois.

"Basically, in Illinois, you can still get an abortion at any time, for any reason, up to and including partial birth abortion," Bryant said in a Southwest Illinois News report. "By the way, it's 100% taxpayer funded. Women who are pregnant automatically qualify for Medicaid, and Illinois cannot reimburse the federal dollars for those abortions that are performed. You also are not required to show any income verification, so you can make as much as you want and still qualify for free abortions."
