Q4 2022 Recap: 4 parolees from St. Clair County convicted of sex crimes set for release

There were four offenders convicted of sex crimes living in St. Clair County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Metro East Sun.

The data shows all of the released offenders among the parolees were men. Of the parolees sentenced for sex crimes, three were veterans, and the median age was 40. The youngest parolee was a 30-year-old man sentenced in 2020, and the oldest was a 80-year-old man sentenced in 2022.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Corwin J. Laramore. He was convicted in 2020 when he was 28 years old. He is now 30.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of sex crimes were paroled during the fourth quarter of 2022 in each Illinois county.
